When we decided to name pick Sasha's name, we didn't count on moving to Russia. Today, when making a plane reservation with our Moscow travel agent, she asked about our daughter's name. I said "Sasha" and she asked "what is her full name?" I said "Sasha." Silence. Then, "oh you mean her actual name is Sasha?"
Sasha is now one of three Sashas in her class of eight kids.
I have also met three Sokoloffs while here. They all want to know the same thing: with a daughter named Sasha, why can't I speak better Russian?
